I'm in dire need of a camera upgrade. I've been looking at the FijiFilm FinePix S9000 today and, for the money and the media cards I already own, it looks like a good deal.

Any comments on pros and cons would be welcomed before I actually decide to purchase this camera.

Thanks!

I haven't used the 9000 but I loved my 4900Z and I have a friend who got the 7100 and it's terrific, so I imagine the 9000 is also..

It was on my short-list of new cameras ... basically the major difference (for me) is that it is a two-handed camera -- with the manual focus and zoom rings, you really can't use it like a one-handed P&S camera. I'm used to zooming with a button ...

The only other downside I remember is that long zoom with no image-stablization, and that I couldn't find a store with one in stock so I could pick it up and see how it feels.

Upsides are pretty wide-angle at that end of the zoom range (24mm), dual card slots, low noise (esp. up to ISO 400), and RAW format capability.

Otherwise, it looks very SLR-like in functionality, without that pesky sensor dust issue.
