No, but I should. All the sites give you tools to do so. |

It's embarasing. I wouldn't admit, publicly, that I have some microstock photos.

Perhaps I should, but I consider that thier marketing efforts are considerably more impressive than what I can produce.

The best sites to get on are
Istockphoto is where I make my most money from.
Shutterstock Is very close to Istock and a great site to submit to. you will see downloads faster here!
Dreamstime
Third place for me right now, but still a great site, just takes a bit longer to make the money.
Fotolia This site just started a few months ago, and it is going great for me now!
123 Royalty Free this site is going to be great, I just need to get more photos up there, but I am almost up to my first payout with them.
These others are ok, but not my main money makers
Bigstockphoto
Stockxpert
Canstockphoto

I don't... I have pictures on my site that are available as prints and someone would be able to download it and make their own print for a few bucks. I would like to keep my site for premium stuff... you know. The stock can market themselves.

Don't give up on ShutterStock! It is a great money maker....Get your best 10 photos together and try again. you will be very happy once you get accepted there.

Can you really make good money off stock photos? |

I think definatly so... and am counting on it, as I have been a full time micro stock photographer since oct. The potential is definatly there as I know a guy from england who is earning over $5,000/month through the various microstock sites. He has around 2,500-3000 images on the sites of good concepts, and business people. Others who have average images make half that.
So yes, in conclusion, it is totally possible and worthwhile your effort. Especially if you have the pictures allready.
