does the 430EX have a swivel head? Like teh 580?

Yes; it's completely adjustable, you can turn it all the way around.

The only difference between the 430 and 580's swivel action is that the 580 both swivels and goes up/down with just one button while the 430 has one button for swivel and another button for up/down.

Not on the 430EX I just bought...only one button for both. Head swivels 180 degrees counter-clockwise and 90 degrees clockwise, btw. |

My apologies - you're right. I went and looked and my old flash is a 420, not a 430. I upgraded to a 580 and the 420 is now backup and great when I need two flashes. |

Thanks for the feedback guys.. went and bought the 430! hehe having a blast with portaits right now. :) Using the sto-fen omni bounce... I also saw the lightsphere, it looks like and awesome diffuser |
