Does mostly dead count? I have a horse that has been mostly dead all day.

Well if it never was living, can it really be dead?
Definition: dead (ded) adj., dead·er, dead·est.
Having lost life; no longer alive.

And there's no real point in beating a horse figuirine, unless you're kicking it after you stepped on it in the middle of the night, whilst headed to the bathroom :-)

Hmmmmm....What about a photo of me beating a man named horse, who just happens to be dead?

Would it be okay for me to beat a picture of a dead horse with a stick? 'Cause the stick would be a new three-dimensional aspect to the picture, right, so I wouldn't get hit with that silly "no reproducing artwork" rule...right?

I want to submit a photograph of a group of photographers sitting in a circle and trying to decide what types of photos would meet the challenge criteria .. : )

I hope you're keeping this thread a secret from these folks!

LOL, nothing cruel about beating a dead horse. Well, not for the dead horse anyway. For us suckers that can't resist watching the dead horse being beaten, it can be down-right inhumane. :-P

If people fail to share my artistic vision may I track them down and beat them with a dead horse?

I think any blount object will do, but a beating with a dead horse would definitely be creative :-)

Style points galore :-)

-A playground game based on basketball
-A street name for heroin
-A man in a movie played by that icon of the American West, Richard Harris.
-Inappropriate playfulness (with "around")
-Raspiness of voice (homophonic equivalent)

Oh yeah,
-A mammalian quadruped, Equus equus

Princeton Wordnet defines horse:
S: (n) horse, Equus caballus (solid-hoofed herbivorous quadruped domesticated since prehistoric times)
S: (n) horse, gymnastic horse (a padded gymnastic apparatus on legs)
S: (n) cavalry, horse cavalry, horse (troops trained to fight on horseback) "500 horse led the attack"
S: (n) sawhorse, horse, sawbuck, buck (a framework for holding wood that is being sawed)
S: (n) knight, horse (a chessman shaped to resemble the head of a horse; can move two squares horizontally and one vertically (or vice versa))

So technically, you could be beating up a sawhorse and be meeting the challenge.

..just make sure to title it with the full definition of sawhorse...

If I take a picture of someone holding a pistol to the head of a Police Horse in Central Park and title it "Deading a Beat Horse" will that be OK? Or too out-of-the-box?

I don't know about too out-of-the-box, but we'll probably be bailing YOU out of the slammer!

I think that would give him an unfair advantage in the upcoming Crime and Punishment challenge.
