Hi guys! I am wondering if anyone has any ideas about the hertz and frequency cycles for flashes? Specifically the Sigma Super 500DG. I was playing around with it for this challenge and managed to get it somewhat to work from what I saw I could do but it's obviously not perfect ;)
I don't have the strong professional strobes as Dan might have among others. Does anyone know what a good setting would be without losing the flash' power?
For this shot, I had it set to 11 hertz and 21 cycles and at a 1/4 power. So in two seconds, I managed to get about 15 fires of the flash in succession. I would like to try this out more but I'm a bit confused by the numbers. Can anyone help me out here? This was a great experiment again BTW as I'm always trying new things ;) Thanks.
Cheers,
Rikki

I'm curious also since I have the same flash. The manual to that sucks.

what do you want to know ?
11 hertz and 21 cycles and at a 1/4 power
everything is there ...
11 hz is ~ 91 ms between flashes
21cycles is the # of flashes
1/4 power is just that each flash is 1/4 the max power
you would only see 21 cycles if the shutter was open for 2 sec
91ms X 21 ~2sec 21 cycles x 1/4 power would be the same as hitting the flash 5 times at full power (probably a bit over exposed)
