If someone wanted build a studio at home to take family and possibly model portraits in the future. They also want to utilize the space for still photographer or setup shots say for stock photography what would be the minimum size room acceptable.
All equipment will be kept in the room along with computer, printer, camera, camera accessories, props and supplies.

here is our little studio at home which can be easlily turned inot a big one for long weekend shoots, but it is moved upstairs into the living room then :-) kapluggin photography

I have a room available that is approximately 12' x 15' but I was thinking that is to small.

it should be enough as a studio, but not if you put the computer and everythig in it to ;)

I guess it just depends on what sort of things you want to shoot in your studio. The Max Factor shoots probably couldn't be done in that kind of studio, but why not headshots and portraits?
Mine isn't any bigger than 12' x 15' (in fact, probably more like 8' or 10' x 15), and I shoot almost all of my portraits in there. Also do very small video shoots in there.
In fact, when I'm not using the studio -- I park my car in there. |
