And i need a motto. I want something about elegance and class but have no idea how to word it so it doesnt sound cheesy to potential customers. I am selling prints that I also have here on DPrints plus i want to bring more people in for portraits.

I made my own logo which looks ok(in the kindergrten sort of way) to me but i want a more Elegant "high class" look to it but I only know how to do so much in PS7/CS2(i have trial of CS2 right now). any one have any idea on upscaling my logo?

edit to add: link to site is in sig "Cher Photography"

I can't comment on mottos or anything like that, but I will make a suggestion. Buy yourself a domain. Telling your clients they can visit cherphotography.com instead of //cher-photography.myphotographer.com/d1/home.asp will be much more memerable, and easier to type into a browser. Not to mention it gives the impression of a more professional appearance. Check out godaddy.com for some pretty good pricing on domains.

Agreed. I have three domains I've bought through GoDaddy (one for my son's website, another for Boy Scouts, and the last for a private venture). Very cheap.

If you go to godaddy you can enter in a domain name to see if it is available. I think it will also give you variations if it isn't.

If you really like your own logo, consider changing the font you're currently using. The "C" in "Cher" looks quite like a "P", especially at that scale. And it's true, especially if your photography is a business, that you need your own domain name and web hosting.

I took a look at your site. Great job. Just a suggestion:

When you photos show up enlarged you see the words "cher photograhy" written in the center. You might want to put that along the bottom or somewhere else, because the focal point of most of the shots is also dead center, so it takes so much away from the pict.

also; "cher the memmories" is nice, but it sounds really Kodakie. It sounds like a replica of "share the moments, share life"

Otherwise, good luck with the site. You got some great photos.

I only put the watermark centered to keep from the photos being saved, but i just went to my site and tried to right click and nothing happens.so i will be moving the watermarks to the bottom. thanks for bringing this up.

since yu think that slogan is a bit "kodakie" what would your suggestion be for a slogan?

I took a look at the sight and just thought you might want to run the intro through spell check, there are a few typos. I would suggest maybe having a separate page for such a write up too, maybe, with just a photo or something with the links on the main page.

And for your logo, many bright colors together can look unprofessional in my opinion, I would suggest a simple image with a main bright colour on a black or white background. Also text that is a bit easier to read for something as important as your name.

Hope that helps a bit. :)

Definitely do this..... they are pretty inexpensive through GoDaddy.com!!

Love LeRoys logo is awesome

Cher the memories great slogan for sure, Cher Photography, good biz name, handy you can use a part of your own name (used my entire name for mine, once in a while I whish I had been a bit more creative but nothing really hit the spot and I needed something fast!)

Edit: put paragraphs in correct order!!
