Hey People,

A simple question which probably has a simple answer...

Why on earth is there always someone who submits a photograph of their lens in every single challenge? It doesn't matter what the challenge is, someone will find a way to throw in a shot of a lens?

Do they truely and honestly expect to win?

Probably because they don't have a cat.

Do you have a bengal cat?//www.calcatta.com/

Here's what happens:

It's 11:00 pm Sunday night and you still haven't submitted anything. Hmmm... what can I do? It's too late to do anything outside since it's dark. I don't have a cat and I don't have a turtle. My wife ate the last slice of cheese so cheese in hand (and smeared under nose) with pants down in the couch is out of the question - rats!

Maybe a picture of my iPod? Naah... not interesting enough. The clock is ticking - it's now 11:25 and your head is spinning around trying to look for things to photograph. How about a macro shot of my hand? Nope - takes too long to set up the macro gear... My wife and baby has now gone to bed so models aren't available.

It would be a shame to go through many days on end; without an 'update' button to push. Just before I set up to take a picture of my own eyeball I think too myself: Ahhh - my new, shiny and good looking 70-200 f/2.8 IS lens! EVERYONE into photography must just love to look at lenses! And even better - it fits almost all challenges - well, in a way. If it doesn't fit, I'LL MAKE IT FIT! ARGH! There WILL be an update button waiting for me when i get up!

So there you go - easy isn't it? ;)

I have submitted 2 lens shots myself but never again! One of the well deserved comments was:

"Nice lens, now try putting it to good use next time and come up with something visually appealing"

;)

I'm guilty of entering a lens photo into a challenge. For Single Light Source
