I want to get a bunch of backdrops, but can only afford one at this time.
SOOO, what to get that offers the most possibilities...
10x16 or so is the size i want. Do i want grayish, bluish, brownish, greenish or??
darker or lighter?
i have gels to modify the look/color somewhat and i want painted (i think) as opposed to dyed.
Anyone got any input on this?
Use: easter sunday on location shoot of families at an assisted living home, pets in my studio, kids in my studio, proabbly HS seniors... i also have white and black backgrounds already.
What's the most universal?
I wish we could post a poll here..

a nice Gray one would look ok as you can hit it with gels and change the look totally |

I would go for the blueish/greenish/greyish colors first. I think of the colors you named they are the most universal IMHO. Of course Im usually wrong so why dont we just call this a tiny bump for a more expert opinion ;)
edit to add:
haha..Di to the rescue!

A lot depends upon the Dosh Factor ! I have a Lastolite Mini Scroll and I love it because it is so versatile as you can have up tp Three Canvases in to choose from.
I only have One which is a Nuetral Colour But it works good for me but it get down to personal opinions and what you want from your kit !
Cheers.

How are your photoshop skills? If you get a white background and light it correctly. You can easily make it any color or pattern you want. Just something to think about. Also if that doesn't work for you consider what type of work you plan on doing. I wouldn't get black, once again if you light things right you can make a white background go completely black (see my sensual flower enrty it was a piece of white foamcore) Grey is nice if your doing more corporate work. Just some things to think about.
One last thing, you can buy a roll of seemless paper for around $25 and that comes in many colors and is a lot cheaper. If you take care of it you can use it for several shoots. If it's for business you take the price of the paper into account what pricing the job, one last benefit is, it's a tax right off.
