This morning I learned that, for an extra $50, I can order the Eos 30d from Canada and have it in a few days. As a US resident, is there anything I should be concerned about ordering equipment out of country? It supposedly will come with a US warranty.

Check Resellersratings before ordering from a particular site.

The shipping company will probably charge you customs fees on top of shipping fees, that's about all I can think of.

Out of curiosity where are you ordering from?

I ordered from Henrys. I bought the 30d and the EF-S 17-85 lens for $1923 and $13 shipping.

B&H would be $1905 plus shipping. I would have prefered B&H, but I can't handle the anticipation of waiting for the 30d to hit the US.

I'm almost positive I heard the guy at Glenn's Fair Price say he could get the D30 for $1500. I told him I want the D20, and he asked why I would get the D20 when the D30 only costs 100 more.

The d30 with the 18-55mm lens has been listing for $1499 in the US. That is probably what he was refering to. The few places I've checked don't offer the 17-85mm lens as a kit. Which is another reason I decided on Henry's.

Henry's is champ here in Toronto. Friendly a great staff and a lot of things you won't find anywhere else.

We were in Toronto over the weekend. I couldn't believe how many Canadians we saw up there.

I made that comment in jest to a woman at my daughter's school the other day, and she looked at me as seriously as could be and said, "Well, you know, Toronto is a part of Canada."

As if I didn't notice going through customs...
