How about an "Art Movement" Challenge where photographers try to emulate different art styles from history. Such as surrealism, abstract expressionism, fauvism etc...

or

An "Emulation Challenge" where photographers try to emulate other 2d media; Drawing, painting, oil, pastel, charcoal, collage (limiting the filters someone could use)

Not exactly your suggestion, but I'm guessing this is something like what you had in mind? I would love it. I wish they would do it.

Similar but what I have in mind is much more open for interpretation I am talking about art styles from as far back as we can call it art to the present....

the second one even more open ended than that any 2D media

how would you go about creating a "watercolor photograph" an "oil Painting photo" with out using filters or repainting it in photoshop?
