Can me and Cindi make a tag-team for this showdown? If it's a people theme she can shoot, if it's a landscape theme I can shoot, if it's a setup theme we can flip...

No, you may not. Unbeatable combinations are not allowed! |

What is the tie breaker?
(Hey, a guy can always hope!)
Arm wrestling?
A break-dancing "Dance-Off" competition?

I was just thinking about that. This competition will have 4 semifinalists and 2 finalists. I propose that the 2 eliminated semifinalists are paired off in a 3rd-place showdown the last week of the competition.

Kiwiness is already an unbeatable combination; he's married to Nasti. Unfair advantage. Just trying to level the playing field here. Cindi, will you marry me?

Dang, I love a woman who makes up her mind fast! Got a date in mind? Who's moving where? I'm great at cooking, lackluster at housekeeping; do we have a good fit there? I hope you're good at organization and bill-paying, 'cuz I'm weak there. Karma the WonderDog is easy, she loves anyone who pays attention to her.

We should keep both houses, summer and winter homes! I'm tidy, dependable and a bit compulsive lol. Karma will get on fine with Lexi and me as long as she'll model for treats :)

Yes, last night I came up with the two losers of the final four pairing off during championship week to play for third.
Actual ties in the challenge have a tiebreaking format which I have already determined. However, in true Survivor fashion, I will not reveal the process so as to avoid any possible manipulation. (I doubt it will happen anyway). |

Okay. So if I read this correctly, you'll be moving up here in May? That'll give me time to clean :-) Karma's pretty well-behaved, except whenhe she's not. She has a Ph.D after all. She won't touch her food until I release her, for example. She'll enjoy having Lexi around to "herd"; she has a strong herding instinct.
I'm in the habit of sharing lenses; isn't that what marriage is about?

Meet the contestants:
SAN FRANCISCO DIVISION
Shanksware: Leading off the SF Division is Tony who registered with DPC only four months ago. Having already scored a ribbon and two Top 10 finishes in 20 challenges, Shanksware looks to sink his teeth into some heavier competition. While early in his DPC career, Tony appears to favor the âDPC lookâ with white background and studio prop shot. We know that is a formula for success, can it get him through the first round?
Ecce Signum: âBehold the proofâ, Andi hails from the UK and also has 20 challenges under his belt. He has garnered one ribbon in that short amount of time and is looking for more. Andi appears to favor animal and outdoor subjects and has access to at least one windmill, always a plus on DPC.
Little King: The dark horse of the division, Ryan faces some stiff first round competition. Having audiences praying his interpretation of angels is true and possessor of the famous peanut butter fu Manchu, Little King has shown early promise. With only 2 challenges under his belt, he has not yet claimed a Top 10, but has an average vote of 5.95.
Rikki: The current darling of DPC, Rikki has transformed himself from a photog with unfulfilled promise to a ribbon earning machine. With 4 ribbons in 2006 he likely leads the field for the year. He also owns 3 Top 10 finishes and currently resides on the front page with his most recent ribbon. Rikki has settled into a style of surrealistic skies and a patented trick only whispered of as âthe Rikkiâ. The heavyweight of the division is looking for a final four matchup with Kiwiness. Can the others stuff his dreams?
First round matches are:
Shanksware vs. Ecce Signum
And
Little King vs. Rikki

Hey Tony, at least you'll make the quarter finals ;) (I only have 3 days to get my entry in but at least I'll be away when the voting is on).

If it's a challenge that needs outside shooting, you're a lock for the quarter finals.
Outside is white, gray, and brown in Minnesota this time of year. |

Melethia brought up a good point in her league which is that the winners are not determined until the deadline for entries for the next challenge is over.
With this in mind, to keep things moving, assume you will advance to the next round and consider your next entry as your submission for the league.
Does this make sense to everybody?
March 27th: Week 1 announced, everybody enters.
April 3rd: Week 1 voting starts, Week 2 announced, everybody enters.
April 10th: Week 1 results, 8 people advance, voting starts and since everybody will have entered the 8 second rounders will have submissions.
April 17th: Week 2 results announced, 4 advance. All 8 will have already submitted so the 4 will have entries.
Maybe that just makes it more confusing. The bottom line is you should have an entry every week until you know you have lost, then you are back to entering on your own terms. |
