Hello everyone :)

I just bought a Cokin InfraRed Filter :D! The tile approx like 3cm x 3cm.

I can't use it with a filter holder since I don't have a dSLR yet but I'll just hold it in front of my P&S Fuji FinePix F700 digicam. Do you think it will work?

I got it for 44€ (approx 50$ I think) is it too expensive?

Regards :)

Holding it should work fine and the price seems pretty good. Just be careful handling it as the filter is made from a resin and will scratch fairly easily.

Thanks for your help :)!

Speaking of maintenance: can I use a sunglass tissu to clean the filter?

Canned air or a bulb blower would be better for dust. If it absolutely needs to be wiped a lens tissue or lens cloth would be best but even then you risk a scratch. Of course one or two small light scratches shouldn't affect your pictures much if at all, but too many scratches building up over time will.
