Ive been playing with this photo in PS7 trying to learn something new(my goal for each day) and I was wondering if this looked real? If not please give me a few pointers on what i could try. Both of these will be given to my husbands boss so i want to make it look as nice as possiable. He knows ALOT of people and If i do a good job he might just send a few "paying" customers my way ;o) ). If i dont start supporting my photography habit soon hubby might just go on strike :0! Thanks in advance for any comments/suggestions/opinions/thoughts that i might get.

I think I would do a bigger blur on the background of second shot. Depending on the planned usage of the photo. Is that a custom paint job? If not, I think the first one looks like a stock photo, not specifically 'his'. The flash in the window is distracting on the first one.
Both are great shots...I would just base my opionion based on the questions I posed.

The other looks fine ,but this one is showing a very distinct halo around the car. I'm not quite sure how to tell you to correct this.
Usuaually with working with backgrounds, I create a second layer with the new background. I set that layer to be semi-transparent and then use the eraser tool to erase the subject and/or foreground.

ok...a few questions on how to fix this too:or all the PS guru's
How to:
Remove sun flare from window with out it looking flat or fake
Remove halo from above car
could the halo be from oversharpening?
Both of these shots are just going to be for myself and boss. All hes really going to do with it is make it a screensaver or desktop BG. I have set up with the boss that when everything turns green we will meet somewhere to reshoot with a better BG. I just want to give him something nice until then. As for the custom paint i am unsure. I know he had the graphics put on, and has put a ton of money into this vehicle(even has NOS!) I think he would be very tickled with a shot of his car that looks like a stock photo.I dont imagine he will even want a print of this. |

Does his boss also have a mullet?
Just curious! |

The blue sky and wispy clouds look like an obvious added background (you don't see clouds like that near the horizon, usually more or less directly overhead). Since you've already effectively removed the background, why not remove the ground as well and go with a flat color BG, something that contrasts well with the color of the car? |

Visit a few of the major manufacturers' websites, ford.com, honda.com, etc. They use lots of white backdrops. If you preserve the shadow, it'll look like it's sitting in a pristine white setting, which can be a cool effect. I don't know what color to recommend so I won't even venture a guess.

I know it's a Trans Am, but the first thing that popped into my head was that song, "Bitchin' Camaro" |

This is the best tutorial I have found regading masks in PS. It will help you get a much smoother line around the car and make it look more natural:

Your sky makes the picture look unnatural, you need to take a sky that was shot from a similar vantage point.
The horizon is to low, which makes for an artificial look.
Here's a quick-and-dirty with more horizon and another sky :
