Does anyone know what spot burning is and how you suppose to do it?

Are you talking about like, burning and dodging in post processing? If so, there is a tutorial in the 'Learn' section here on the site.tutorial

Photoshop and similar image editors have a tool called the "burn" tool; you can adjust the diameter and the intensity of it and run it over areas in your image that are too light and darken them; the more you burn, the darker they get. The opposite is the "dodge" tool, which lightens areas.

In Photoshop you can set these tools to affect highlights, midtones, or shadows, so you can, for example, "burn down" a bright reflection in the middle of a darker area without darkening the area around the reflection.

These tools are only "legal" in Advanced Editing contests in DPC; you can't use them in basic Editing.

If you were to use the burn and dodge tool with the saturation/color layer blending mode would this stop the oversaturation of colours rather than having to this type of work in B&W
