I love these shows and was noticing recently that they use a lot of SLR cameras that appear to be digital BUT like the other night on NCIS (with the high school kid holding the class hostage) they appear to be making a huge mistake when "using" these cameras. The female agent quickly held her Nikon DSLR up to about chin level, looked down at the back and took a picture, she actually did this a couple times until her position was discovered by the boy. And on CSI the tech had a camera mounted on a tripod to shoot down on something that was up on the counter, he pulled it over a little, tippie-toed up and glanced at the back of the camera (upside down even) then took the shot.
It was my understanding (and correct me if I'm wrong as I am quite often) that until the recent release of the Olympus, all DSLR cameras would only show your image AFTER you take the picture. You cannot simply compose the shot and take it by looking at the back LCD screen. Am I right? Constantly they just glance at the back of the camera and shoot these perfect shots.
Is there actually some way to compose the picture while looking at the LCD, I know I can on my 5050 but it's not a DSLR.
Just wondering.

Canon 20Da also has this capability.
Don't watch these shows expecting realistic portrayal of forensic technology in action. You have to watch because they are entertaining.
