Had this idea cause it seems to me that some pictures are viewed more during voting then others.
So what is your "Views/Votes * Vote"
I participate in three challenges now and these are my "popularity" scores:
Literary Adventure
Votes: 143
Views: 196
Avg Vote: 4.9650 Vi/Vo*V= 6.81
Footwear
Votes: 123
Views: 206
Avg Vote: 5.0813 Vi/Vo*V= 8.51
Pick Two
Votes: 189
Views: 289
Avg Vote: 5.0794 Vi/Vo*V= 7.74

you can't really say that becasue you have more views than votes that it's due to popularity. I usually go through the entries two to three times before giving them their final vote. So that's 2-3 views per 1 vote .

Your formula should be Vo/Vi*V; the way you have it (views per vote), if you get lots more views than votes, your score goes up. The other way, if you get a higher percentage of viewers voting, your score goes up.

Huh??? Score goes up either way? ;^)

I think there is some merit to what Gunnsi is trying to say. Yes, some people view multiple times to give a valid score - but I really think if the image is unique or interesting in some way it will get more views just because people want to look at it (i.e. "Popular").

Trying to gauge from one challenge to the other is tricky thou because some subject matter is going to generate more interest than others.

My 2 cents. ;^)

Thank you for participating, I have gone through my older voting and it sure tells me something about how interresting my pictures seem to be.
Pictures that score higher in this way seem (for me) be looked at more often after voting.

That is my point, If someone looks at it again maybe after voting then it is maybe more interresting than if you just vote for it at once without looking at it again.

Why would you assume that the ratio of views to votes would positively affect your score? You are assuming that average vote of everyone who looks at your image, but doesn't vote would be higher than the actual average vote received. Maybe they're looking at it so much because they're trying to figure out what the heck it is (I have one of those). Makes no sense to me...

Views during voting only? Or total views? (which, of course, goes way up for ribbon winners)

Yeah, if it was total views, your averge vote would now also be a function of time. Still makes no sense.

It's an interesting way of viewing these statistics, but I can't really see it having much more application than in-voting for the above mentioned reasons.

Most pics take lots of views after they ribbon simply because of the ribbon.

Incidentally, my current score is 5.024 in Lit Adv. and my Gunnsi figure is 7.6 ish.

I thought the pic was really interesting, but then again, I took it :)

Can't say the Gunnsi Figure means much to me at this point.

I am not thinking it will affect my score.
I am thinking about the popularity. Weither it is or is not a good or bad picture.
I should maybe have let out the score part of the picture!!

A picture can be popular although it is not a very good one. Has potential or has something new in it. Gives ideas to others.
I have one like that wich I am very happy with. "Shadows of your dreams". It is maybe something new but could have scored a lot higher if it was made better.

:-) Maybe I'll ask for the Gunnsi figure to be calculated for all pictures :-)

It is just a try for me to explain to my self and maybe to others why this ratio (vi/vo) is not the same with any picture. I think I can see a trend in this in the way that the higher ratio, the more "interresting" the picture is.
