Hi
I just wanted to know using which software can i do following task.

I want to just use a small portion of a big sound .Say begining of track that is 1 min long from a song that is 5 min long.

Also how can i mix two different songs into one, i dont mean as in remix i mean if i have a song as soon it finishes another songs starts playing as part of same track, say something like nonstop track

My friend has sound forge or sound sonic ( something like that)

Looking for a free simple editor? I've used Wavepad before and it worked for what you are talking about.

Sound Forge I believe is a little more intense, may not be. I might be thinking of Sonic Foundrys Acid.

Personally I have/Use Magix Music Studio which is pretty heavy... more for mixing Guitars and Vocals etc...
