Hey Cool Cats!

I gots a quick question.
I have a layer in flash 8 that transitions in. I would like to turn the transitioning text into a button that will link to another page. Ideally I would like it to also have an action that acts like a roll over image.

Any thoughts on how I can do this?

add a frame when the transition is done with just the text in the exact same location with everything else transparent and have that text formatted as a link. It will not be active until the transition is finished which would end with this frame.

To do it so the link is active while the transition is occurring just format the text area as a link in a separate layer which is transparent. But this would make an area the link more so than the text. The first method makes the actual text the link.

I have limited Flash skills but have done what you are trying to do by the methods above.

It would be hard to get it in the exact same place as the transitioning text. Is there a way I can get it to be?

if you copy the text from the final frame of the transition it should paste in a new frame in the exact same location. If not, copy the entire frame and paste it into a new frame as the last frame. If all movement is done it won't matter. Then you can make whatever you want clickable.

Thanks much. I actually had to create the text again in a different layer & place it right above the tranistioning text.
Thanks for all your help dude!
