Transitions is a very broad term and means different things to different people.

What I was struck by is how many very good photos were taken this round. It seems that the very ambiguity of the word "transitions" allowed people to bring more artistry to the pictures.

I am very impressed with quite a few images.

i've never cared for titles, they're meaningless yet limiting at the same time and a comment i recently received just proves my point -- folks use the titles to judge instead of looking into the photo and attempting to see what the photographer was trying to get across ...of course, it's all relevant and subject to our individual interpretations of the photographs we're seeing, but i vote for titles to appear AFTER the voting is done and the results are posted

yup - think I predicted this would happen more, not less this week :)
Shame to be proven right...

If you are talking about people's voting methods, I apologize! I don't want to start that again either. If you are talking about something else, I don't know what you are talking about = P

I was only making reference to the whole "That does/doesn't fit the challenge debate". I personally like the comments I get regardless.

Nnawww, leave the title alone. Sure, they can help or hinder or make no difference at all, but in my mind they are part of the overall presentation. It has been said many times so far.. even a crappy picture cant be saved by a great or witty title. But at least it can make that 1-3 rated image a little more interesting.

Yeah, I had a great time getting my image. And while it is not doing so well, I am fairly pleased with it. And frankly, thats all that really matters.

I'm sure Drew and Langdon had to know by now what would happen when 'transitions' was the topic they picked:)I know my photo is going to get hammered by some and loved by others but I don't mind at all. I took some of my best photos this week that had nothing to do with 'transitions' and I would have been super happy about my photography this week even if I hadn't submitted a photo. It's really the 'challenge' and all the great discussion that makes this site so much fun. I am completely and utterly addicted. Come on, try to bash my picture and just see if you can wipe this smile off my face.

I have had my camera for 1 1/2 years. Up until now I only new how to point and shoot. Stop motions was a challenge for me. I didn't know how to stop motion with a camera, but reading the forums and getting outside and messing with my camera, I can now say I now how to sum what use my aperture. I am addicted to this sight too. We should all just try to have a good time as we are learning. Wouldn't you say??

I had fun getting my image because I found a family of geese at the same location. My first love is nature photography so I was thrilled to get some great shots of the parents hearding their chicks away from the nut with the camera.

I think Transitions is a very broad subject and most things in life can be shown to be in transition or showing signs of transition--from hot to cold or dark to light or young to old, so I would think that any photo that showed some change or some evidence of change happening would easily qualify and then you can judge the photo on merit.

this is the first challenge ihave submitted for, and i must admit my picture was very influnced on a nimber of levels, some may have been perceived by the viewer but most were very personal and emotional in nature, the feeling of joy and sorrow in one picture, the nature of life and the wanting to control it...and i am finding it hard to vote simply because i don't feel that i can do the photos justice...

This would obviously suggest the transition of wood to paper plus slate and chalk to pen! - according to Drew "I completely disagree. A transition is by definition a middle state. If you want to beat me over the head with your transition and show me the before and after, that's fine -- but I certainly don't expect it." -
which males your "paper 'transition'" perfectly acceptable entry!

I'm so glad I have company. Only one-third of the commenters understood what I was saying in the photograph. Another third just binned it as NOT TRANSITION. But it's the last one-third who came back to figure it out that really gratifies me. I'm honored. In an ironic way, the puzzlement of most commenters actually validates my effort!
