Thanks for the support, Leroy, but with all due respect, I'm far from it. I'd personally give a big vote for JJBeguin |

MMMMM - Very interesting comments. I must say that most of the time I still use my 350D as a P&S - although I have started to play around with the settings a bit.

Don't suck up to the P&S crowd - They want a digital war. Lets meet
them Head on Pixel. Either you are in or out. |
Not sucking up to anyone, sweetie. live & let live. |

LOL - I don't know if the original post was a joke or if the guy was serious (I hope it was a joke). Ins South Africa we often heard these kinda speeches during the apartheid era - those guys were serious.

Thing with a war is, our big telephoto lens can be more effectively used like baseball bats than your little zooms.
our gear bags are heavy, so we are strong!
However, you do out number us overall (not sure the numbers here on DPC though).
We were ALL p&s folks at one time - then we grew up. :P

Guess I'll have to chime in here (I usually stay away from these kinds of things and I might regret this). I am a proud P&S user. 7 of my top 10 scores have been with my P&S. I do have a DSLR also, but it's collecting dust. It just frustrates me ~ I find that I spend more time trying to figure out if I have this and that set right, the right lens, etc. than I do thinking about the shot. It got to the point where I almost dreaded taking pictures. With my Panasonic I have a great zoom, EASY to use, can take it anywhere and most of all, I love the quality of the pictures. I do hardly any PS to them, just if I want to try something different.
So, yes, here's to P&S's !!

I am already in this cause by way of default, but do you think we could have some cute little uniforms? |

hmmm, crayon in diapers? That could be quite interesting. Note I did not say appealing, just interesting.

Here we go again - Shutterpug and Photoman trying some stuff (Cheese, Jello, Peanut Butter) and now Crayon and Diapers...
This can only be interesting.
