Good luck, Henneke. Still hate the news about the 300, but well worth moving up to the 20 if you can. My fingers are crossed for ya. :)

Foto Konijnenberg sells 20D's for 1199, but they are out of stock at the moment. Great shop, excellent service so far.

Yeah, I know, but that's a bit too far for me to drive to. I checked Camex and they have it in stock (says their site) |

If you're buying a Canon body now, do look to see if the 30D is available yet in your area (should just be hitting the shelves). Though it shares the same sensor as the 20D, there are quite a few functional improvements and the bigger LCD alone is a very nice thing.

I saw this and maybe worth a try:
About the Error 99 message for many first users: When you receive your Digital Rebel, you are so exited to start taking pictures, so you stick a CF card inside and go out to shoot pictures and you get an error message. It's not until you read the manual and find out that the CF card needs to be formatted by the camera (a simple and brief procedure) in order to function properly. Then, all is well. |

I have pre-oredered my 30D at Top-deals in Zeist.
They too are a real store and sell for internet-store prices.
Last time I called them they expected the camera to come in tuesday or wednesday... price around the same as the 20d@konijnenberg.
BTW, Az is right, Konijnenberg is a very good photo store, never had any problems with them other then it is a loooooonnnnggggg drive....
You can check kieskeurig.nl for the prices of the 30D...
Good luck...
BTW: When will the 30D be added to the DPC camera database?

I've started getting err 99 quite frequently. It seems to happen most if I turn the camera off too quickly after taking a photo. Normally, I can just turn it off and on again and its fine. Sometimes, when I can be bothered, I take the battery out and then put it back, and it starts up normally again.
On reading the Canon manual, Err 99 is associated with poor battery contacts....if that is any help to you.

i got an error 99 yesterday on my d60, then the external flash wouldn't work [sigma 500 dg]. took off flash, took out batteries, recharged batteries.
tried pop-up flash in auto mode...and no flash visible. The flash is now firing before the shutter opens. in all modes, all curtain sync's etc.
i can only get a decent exposure in manual mode, but not with flash.
my d60 has heavy use, got it from a friend after years of heavy use. Is this the end of my shutter?
considering a 20D...if my credit is ok.
