Search came up empty, so does anybody know when it's going to be released? Any definitive dates?

They will sell no camera before its time. Besides they need to give the dealers time to clear 20D stock

Nope, but if yo find out you tell me, OK?

If i recall on the last few new model releases from Canon (5D, 350XT) they are in customers hands in 3 weeks or so. I really wish i'd paid attention to those models so Id know what to expect this time.

It takes about 5 weeks for a boat to get from Japan to the US. It takes 12 hours to unload the ship, and 3 days for the containter to get to NYC. Then figure 2 days to get it deliverd and unpacked and a few more days to get the stuff to b&h. Give them a day or 2 to get tehir website updated...

6 1/1 weeks from when they left Japan.

So the real question is - When did they leave Japan?

Price drop on canon dSLRs at amazon - b&h is sitll lower by a few bucks.

Could be a good sign though!

20D body is $1119 @b&h
350XT body only, 699 at b&h

Warehouse Express are saying they are getting their first shipment in March 06, but does not say how many they are getting.

If they are getting one unit then they have had their first shipment and not lied to the general public.

So you say they got one in already? their site doesn't say this.

There are stores in Australia that have had stock for almost a week; I don't think it will be long before the first shipment hits the shelves in North America.

I never even heard of this model! Wow, I'm behind the times. My local camera store has them in stock for around $1500 bones CND.

the cam store (Calgary)

Note: Vistek is around $50 more.

//cameracanada.com/eNet-cart/product.asp?pid=1234B005&type=1 This one comes with a high speed 1 Gig CF card. Considering they are about $100-120 or more, this is a pretty good deal. Too bad they're not in stock there either.
