Why does the 1.4x Canon converter seem more popular than the 2x? Does the 2x give more limitations? or is the 1.4x more versitile? |

the 1.4x causes only 1 stop of light loss where the 2x causes 2 stops of light loss. Because of that alone it makes autofocus impossible for lenses that were F4 to start with on a non 1-Series body. Also the 1.4x has less loss of optical quality. |

I did a lot of research before buying my 1.4X II. The concensus was that the 2.0 wasn't nearly as sharp - not considering the extra stop.
