I often noticed poor colour gradations in pictures with low contrast areas, like a sky. Here's an example of my own:
The original looked fine, so the cause is the low quality jpeg made for the submission. Did I do something wrong, when I created this jpeg, or is it unavoidable? If the latter is true, the voters should consider... |

First thing to do is to check your computer display settings. Assuming you're running a Windows machine, right-click on the desktop, open the properties dialog, click the settings tab and look at what color depth is set. It should be "Highest (32-bit)." If it's 16-bit, change it.

In fact it seems to be a problem of my laptop at work. The colours are set at 32-bit but I suppose it's one more lie from this lazy computer!
On my desktop at home it looks fine... so sorry about this useless thread.
The bad conclusion is that from now on, I will have to do my voting at home during my free time ;-) |
