Ebay !

Dragon image in Melbourne is pretty good for professional stuff, Teds Cameras are Ok for amateur stuff and will pricematch...

I always check out ebay though - adorama sell their stuff cheaper there I believe :-)

Thanks, I haven't heard of Dragon Image.

I've got most of my stuff off eBay but recently had some trouble claiming a waranty on a D70 I got for my brother from Hong Kong. It's taken almost 5 months for his camera to be repaired (blinking green light of death problems!).

So I'm happy to pay a bit more for a waranty and a bit of customer service. Even someone who speaks english would be an improvement.

I hope this helps. I have used Centrenet a few times and even rung them on a few occasions. They are definitely Aussie voices who couldn't do enough for me and are very knowledgeable. Their products always come out overnight(Air Express) unless they were out of stock and even then they came out earlier than what they predicted. Great prices too.

Centre Net

I'm halfway between Sydney and Melbourne - in the beautiful Bega valley. It's a 6 hour drive to sydney so most of my shopping is done on the internet.

On the other hand I have the most beautiful coastline in the country at my back door.

thanks for all the tips

Vanbar is in Sydney and Melbourne, but they also have a pretty good online catalogue at //www.vanbar.com.au

Fletchers in the Sydney CBD used to be great, but they've just gone into receivership. :(

Michaels in Melbourne is pretty good too.

If you can get a copy of Photographic Trader there are a lot of ads from shops there, some dealing with new equipment, some dealing in second-hand or both. Contact the publisher at (07) 3245-5721

I got a 580EX from these guys at the best price I found other than ebay from overseas which would have worked out more expensive with the GST.
