Canon EF 24-105mm f/4.0 L IS

It was a foggy day with a touch of drizzle...had to shoot between intermittent wiper passes.

My intention was to convey a fantastic land, yet realistic, on the other side of the fence. A sense of, "The Grass is Greener on the other side of the fence". Everything opposite the road is of the original background layer...the road side of the fence is an intentional extreme grayscale layer.

My father used to drive down this road when times were tough for him, and there would be sheep grazing, and around the corner from this shot is a small mill with a water wheel and all. It's really a unique place in this part of the world. He said the stress of life melted away as soon as he reached the spot were I took this shot.

Any comments or critiques?
Any suggestions as to what could improve what I was trying to convey?

Wow! Thanks for the kind comments!
I reduced the original image down to this size for DPC and got it down to 150k (to practice for Challenges). The version I printed for my father in 8x10 was processed in the ProPhoto color space and came out pretty well.
