The right editing software might take care of this problem ...

I'm with Nick. Just go bald and you won't worry about 6 inches of hair. The longest hair on my body is on my back. Not that you really cared to know that, but I thought I'd share.
You're a cutie with both long and short hair. Revel in the fact that now your hair will dry faster. |

At this point, after studying your pictures, you really only have one choice: Shave your head bald. Get some barber style clippers and let it fly...then shave it with a razor.
(See thread)
I can see how your life is over...and it truly is a shame for someone so young, but I totally understand. There is no turning back - accept responsibility for your actions, break out the clippers, take a deep breath, and dismiss the burden that grows from your skull.
It's out of your hands...the choice has been made.

You should dye it bright pink and spike it up.

Yes, six inches can make awesome difference (on some body parts ;-) ).

You'd look hot with a pink mohawk.

Sounds like a good opportunity to release the hold that hair has on your identity. When people talk about you, do they say "Oh, that's the girl with the long hair" or "That's the super-cool chick with the rockin' personality"? Cutting off hair can be a liberating experience.
This isn't directed towards you; but I can't stand it when people get so attached their hair that they have a meltdown at the thought of cutting it. Usually, these people have extremely long, shapeless, unflattering hair. Was watching "What Not to Wear" yesterday and couldn't believe the woman who refused to let them touch her long, stringy mass. Ruined the whole makeover.
If it makes you feel better, I've been trying to grow mine a little longer, and each time I get it cut they chop it all off again. The last time, I realized that the lady was drunk. I had to go home and even it up, myself! |

HUGE IMPROVEMENT ACTUALLY. Long hair isnt always flattering or the best choice for a face. You look fresher, less blah with the shorter new do. I like it!! And I was a hairdresser for years. You should actually have more layers at the bottom, you know the flippy look.
But seriously. It's an improvement!! |

Almost cut my hair
It happened just the other day
It's gettin kinda long
I coulda said it wasn't in my way
But I didn't and I wonder why
I feel like letting my freak flag fly
Cause I feel like I owe it to someone
Must be because I had the flu' for Christmas
And I'm not feeling up to par
It increases my paranoia
Like looking at my mirror and seeing a police car
But I'm not giving in an inch to fear
Cause I missed myself this year
I feel like I owe it to someone
When I finally get myself together
I'm going to get down in that sunny southern weather
And I find a place inside to laugh
Separate the wheat from the chaff
I feel like I owe it to someone. |
20 years old, hair is six inches shorter than the previous 18-20". Yep, life is over, no question. *calls Dr. Kavorkian*
;-) |
I was listening to that song literally 2 minutes ago!
Also, is that the same Dr. Kevorkian as in Vonnegut's "God Bless You Dr. Kevorkian"? It'd be a little too weird if I was reading that book now too. Still, I was reading his "God Bless You Mr. Rosewater" just today. Close enough?

CalliopeKel: do you really think layers would work? I used to get them when I was younger and less fashionable, but they usually made my hair really puffy. As it is, it's kind of wavy, and I'd prefer hair that's either really straight (straight perm) or really curly (regular perm). But for now, I can't afford either. :(!
Strikeslip & Spazmo: I could definitely go for a pink mohawk, but dying your hair is damaging, and I NEVER use hair products, so unless I could get a natural hawk...hmm...
I'm glad you guys understand how severe this situation really is, and how I truly can't go on living this way. Now, when will Dr. K get here? |

If for nothing else, your Profile Views have leaped by the hundreds, I presume.
Profile Views and Hair is all that really matters in life. At least you got one right. (and I have neither of the two)
WAHOOO!!!
Kidding, of course. Your hair looks fabulous as is! (judging from that little picture in this thread) |

I'm with greatandsmall. If your hair length was that important to you its a good thing to break out of that box. This is a good time to try something new. Hand a trusted friend the scissors and let her have at it.
Your hair doesn't define who you are.. break free!!! run with the wind!!! swim with the sharks!!!
Well OK forget the sharks.. but shorter hair can be a good thing :)

My hair didn't define who I was, it just made me look better. :(
And MC Matt, I never even considered that, but you're right! I have 1k+ profile views now (though I don't remember how many I had before this thread). No new favourite photographers, though. Which is a shame. Because we all know the heirarchy of life goes:
1. Number of times selected as favourite photographer on DPC
2. Hair
3. Number of profile views on DPC |

Then don't use hair products, I always made my mohawk stand up with either egg whites or diluted Elmer's glue. The egg whites do stink after a few days thouhg. Maybe the Elmer's would be the best.

Heheh. It's okay Hail, you're still awfully cute. And it's not *that* drastic a change. It'll grow quickly, and soon you won't miss it at all.
I speak from experience. Two years ago i had hair down to my hips, and i cut it to my chin. It's halfway down my back again now. :)

Well here you go, I added you as a favorite 'cause I think you're darn pretty either way! :D
And no worries, it'll grow back real fast and you won't be able to tell. Or you'll get used to it this way and decide to keep it.

Have a great day...
