Can someone please explane exactly what is a multiple exposure, if I use a slow shutter speed and put the lens cap back on 8 seconds into a 15 second exposure, then move something in the frame, remove the lens cap and allow a few more seconds of exposure is that a multiple exposure?

sort of. Usually a multiple exposure includes clicking the shutter more than once on the same frame of film. I don't know how it can be done in digital without PhotoShop (or similar program). With film, the film was just not advanced and another image was taken over the first.

According to mu understanding, yes, that will be multiple exposures. A different way to do it is to have strobe lighting as the only light souce for the image and fire them several times during the same shutter opening.
There is a mentorship about it with the Master (graphicfunk). I'll find the link for ye. here

Thanks sabphoto & Refwhett, so I guess I can't use that in a challenge then, well back to the drawing board.

The way you proposed to do it is one single photo. Should be no problem at all for the dpc rules.
