On the event of a DQ request (or validation needed) on a photo, I know SC members would vote on whether the picture is allowed or not allowed. Just some quick questions:

1. will ALL the SC members vote on the photo?
2. if #1 is NO, then is the number of SC members needed to vote fixed?
3. since SC members do not always agree with each other on DQ/not-DQ matters, how do we know if certain techniques in PS will get consistently be allowed or not allowed?
4. In the event where we asked SC (named Albert Einstein, for example) whether certain techniques is allowed and got a green-light answer, what would happen if the photo is asked to be validated, and then Albert Einstein's vote is drowned by other SC and the photo got DQ'ed?

No, but i believe the majority should/has to vote.

consistently??? no, thats why I believe they are changing some of the rules for situations like this.

Then you start a "rant" thread in regards to how unfair and unjustice you have been done by SC, get the thread locked, open up a new tread about them locking threads, have that thread locked only to finally open up yet another thread telling everybody you are leaving this site and why.

All your questions have been answered in other threads but I'm to lazy to go looking for them so you may want to. My answers are only from what I've read and may or may not have understood them correctly.

At least you can rejoice in the fact that BOTH sides of virtually any debate appear to be well represented on SC.

To hear it told, it's a miracle that any photos at all are allowed on DPC. SC is so evil and powerful and wicked that I don't see why they allow anything at all. I bet that every photographer who wins a ribbon has to pay off a majority of SC to keep their photo eligible. See, that's why they are inconsistent - not all photographers pay them off.

Good gosh. How many times and in how many threads does this same question have to be rehashed and rebashed?

Only, as recommended in this thread, a dictatorship will cure these concerns. No vote by majority will ever result in perfect consistency. Sorry.

1. Very good question but I think the answer is NO

2. Very good question but I think the answer is NO

3. We don't and either do they

4. Bad luck, when you ask for an answer it is given by an individual. SC will not vote on a image before a challenge.

But in all of this the good news is we have a rules revision taking place. The bad news is we don't know when they will finish the rules revision or what they will be.

probably not, but a majority will.

it depends on the trend of the vote. if it is 6-4 (or so), we will try to get everyone's feedback. if the vote is like 10-0 one way or the other, we will end the voting and process the image.

we try to be consistent but, as has been pointed out 18 bajillion times we aren't always. we're human. 99% of the time the work we do is just fine.

if it was something we had seen before many times, albert would rely on precedent and send you a note with a yea or nay (and possibly some examples).

if it's something new and exciting that no one has ever done before, you can submit a ticket and we will start a group discussion about it.

whatever your "technique" is, it's most likely related to the "major elements" clause. we're not worried so much about technique as we are its impact on the final photo. you need to first ask yourself if your postprocessing itself is the primary subject in the photograph. you might find your answer on your own answer if you're honest enough with yourself.
