Is it possible to do a double exposure using a digital SLR? Specifically the E-300?

Anything's possible! Although only a few DSLRs (not sure which ones actually) will do in-camera double exposures, but if you can control the lighting you can trick any of them into it. You can do it by triggering a flash twice, or by one long exposure split in two; cover the lens between, while the shutter is still open. these techniques take planning, but they are workable.
The above really applies only if you intend to enter challenges. if you're not worried about that, then simply take two exposures and combine in post. Doing it that way gives much more flexibility, and you'll get better results as well.
