These are both stunning still lifes... the shadows and subtle lighting are just beautiful.

Thank you very much!

I definitely prefer the duotone but my opinion wasn't shared with a lot of voters.

I agree with you... I like the original better as well...

For practice I decided to try to do a duotone with an image of mine of Devil's Bridge. Mine is cropped differently but this was my try...

Thank you. I believe my signature... it's about taking away. Simplifying.

I'm curious as to why this didn't do a little better than it did. I thought it worked well and was easily a break-6 image. Not amazing but respectable....any thoughts?

Some people commented that they would have preferred it horizontal....I think it looks better vertically and it doesn't draw attention to one face as it does when it is horizontal.

I agree... a 90 degree rotate gives one face dominance. I like the way you had it.

Beautiful family, btw.

Yep I made a comment about preferring horizontal but looking at it now I do prefer the vertical.

Here is my original, I also did one in blue. Several comments state that blue would be better. Which do you like the best?

ladpupmoe,

The blue is nice, but I'd still have stuck with the sepia.
