A few weeks ago I got a really nice frame thingy that had 12 places in it - stands up and has hinges so you can just put it in a room anywhere - it has 3 pannels and has 4 photos down a 3 across. I put some of my flora series in it for mum and dad and gave it to them as a gift. From the description I have given I don't expect anyone to understand what it looks like - but that's not the point!!! One of mums clients saw it and asked where she got it - mum said that I had taken the phots and done it up for her. The lady then told mum she wanted to buy some of my prints of me!

What type of price do you put on a print? How do you calculate what your idea is worth? How do you put a price on your own art?

I know how to do the frame and the glass and the material costs - but do you charge for the actual concept of the photo - the talant - the idea - the art????

If someone could give me an idea - it would be great!!!

Thanks in advance,

Kat

Check out the DPC Prints by clicking on the button in the menu bar at the top of any dpc page. If you become a dpc member you can upload prints to your portfolio and then offer them as prints. You can suggest frames to go along with them, but there are no options for multi-picture frames like you described. As for price, they give you a base price and you then decide what to charge. You can look around the site to get an idea of what others are charging for different size prints.
