I'll be starting a new business within few days. Part of this business is I will sell frames. I needed to photograph one in order to make a "catalog-like" page showing the products. I didn't have a nice professionnal setup full of strobe and back drops so I made the most I could. Here's the shot I started with:


with a lot of editing I ended up with this one:


Would people be nice enough just to tell me if that is good enough for my purpose and if not how I can improve it?

I think you did a great job with the edit.

For shooting the frame in the first place.....try pulling it away from the wall and using a shallow DOF. It may make the editing easier if the background is blurred and all one tone instead of having to deal with the shadow from the frame.

Thanks jennifer. It reassure me. the catalog will be printed in the middle of next week so I need to get things fine before that.
