Hey all, I finished processing some of my shots from my trip to New Orleans... I was hoping to get some feedback on them. Thanks!

Hey. Nice shots. They look like they were taken in the "rat's nest road" area of Slidell, and along Hwy 11 in Slidell? Were they? I live in Slidell, and they looked very familiar to me, without being able to say 100% definate. So I was just wondering if I got it right or not. :-)

yep, that's where they all are... save the 2nd one, that one is actually on 11...

I had a blast shooting this last weekend, although it was rather sobering at the same time... But this is the first time I got to try out my new wide andgle lens... Lots of fun!

I also took a ton of 'happier' shots at the dionysus parade... I'll post some of those when I get some time for editing...

You were at Dionysus!?! So was I!!! Bummer I didn't know it. Watch, we were probably a block apart... :-)

Yeah, there are still a lot of destroyed areas around, even 5-6 months after. It's amazing how far the water came, and how much damage it could do.

Do you have family down here? Or just came for a visit?

I lived down there until the storm. I have a bit of family and a lot of friends... I was just down visiting for the long weekend.

I watched the parade from the lawn of the Fritchie House on Front St. Some friends of ours own the place and let us use their lawn. So were we within a block? lol

No, darn, not within a block. My family and friends were on Pontchatrain in front of LazerZone, or where it used to be at least!

Don't know if you noticed the grand marshall, but he's a kid on our swim team who was just diagnosed with some serious cancer last October. His mom wrote to the Krewe to see if she could get him on a float to have some fun because of all the stuff he's been going thru lately. They said they'd do better than that, we'll make him the grand marshall! Made up cups and beads with his face on them and everything. He had a blast. Thankfully he seems to be doing very well too, and hopefully he'll be cured. That was so cool of them.

We also know someone on the dance team that you posted a shot of in the red/silver uniform. Not the girl we know tho. :-)

The weather was so drab and dreary, that even tho I brought my cam to the parade, I didn't even get it out... From looking at your shots now, I wish I had! Nice ones.

I wish you well where ever you end up. Hope your family and friends here are doing well!
