Well I really screwed this challenge up and it's my fault. I read the challenge description but didn't read the challenge details. So I have ended up with IMO a great shot but DNMC.
When I seen the challenge topic I looked it up on the net and found what I thought it meant and viewed samples. But by not reading the details I deserve whatever score I end up with.
Thanks for the ones that has commented and I totally agree with you. I'm just sorry I had a great photo entered into a wrong challenge. I don't want anyone thinking I was trying to put "eye candy" up and hope for a good score. I know DPC votes better than that and I believe my score as it is now LOW :) is fair.
Sorry to everyone for not reading the directions before entering.

My 2nd ever challenge.
Average on the first one was 4.7, just kinda hoping this one will do a little better.
Not a bad start, but once again, nothing fantastic.

just got thru voting. i noticed a whole lot of images where the subject just has a single illuminated area or is side-lit or similar. i don't doubt that that people used a torch etc to illuminate the subject (as per the challenge details), but if they've just held the light source stationary have they really 'painted with light'? i didn't vote these images down, but what do others think?

i didnt eneter but i'm voting and (commenting on all scores 8 and below) so hopefully all the average scores will get atleast a comment.

I know how you feel, I'm currently going through the same thing in the 'Odd Couple' challenge. I love my photo and I'm very proud of it but the voters say otherwise; 4.7!!! (I'm chalking it up as experience).

Does it have a moving light source, and meet the challenge?
I've marked down some wonderful pictures because they didn't meet the challenge. It's a shame, but what's the point of having a theme for the challenge if people will just ignore it? |

Does it show some squiggly point of light drawing a shape in the image? NO - Does it use a flashlight - which moved quite a lot - to enlighten my scene - YES.

Good stuff. :-)
Is it obvious that you've lit your scene with something other than a flash (ie your moving flashlight), or does it just look like it was lit with 'speckled moonlight filtering through a tree canopy' kind of thing? |
