Well, I'm not selling a camera but I am asking for a donation of simply the spare change in your pocket.
America's Greatest Heart Run & Walk, is being held in Utica NY on 3/4/06. This event is the biggest fundraising event held in the US based on individual donations (Detroit beats this little city but is backed by the Car Industry) for the American Heart Association.
Anyways, please read my sister's webpage (Team Rebecca). In short, she had her first surgery in 1974 @ age 6. Basically to let her live a little longer. In 1994, after 20 yrs of research they had developed something that could fix her.
2 morals to this story....1) THANK GOD there was research and research money to save her (in 1994 she had been told she had less than 10 yrs to live. i.e she would never see 36yrs old) 2) How amazing is an experimental procedure was able to last 20yrs until technology could catch up to HER!
Becky's heart had to wait 20 yrs....it is my goal to make sure SOMEONE ELSE DOESN'T HAVE TO WAIT 20 YEARS!
Thanks for your time...
The link will take you to the team page, on there is a link to paypal...or PM me for other methods...
I stress I am only asking for spare change not big monetary donations!!! Our motto is "saving lives $1 at a time" |
bumping again for tonight...any more wonderfully generous DPCers???
Thank you from the bottom of my Heart!!

Well, I have just about thawed out...
The Walk was Fabulous! It was warmer than expected with the temperature at the start of the walk 21 degrees (as opposed to the 12 it was supposed to be)
7809 walkers/runners collected a total of $1,115,427.00!!! Woo-hoo!!
Team Rebecca was 25 members strong turning in a total of $3369.59!!
Both my sister and I each qualified to be members of the High 5 club (each of us raising more than $500.00)
I truley appreciate the donations that I received from my friends at DPChallenge!!
7 yr old Tessa, (older sister to infant Sydney who was the Inspirational Honoree In Memoriam the same year as Becky)read a story SHE wrote for the closing events.
"My name is Tessa. I have a sister who is an Angel. My Sister Sydney lives in Heaven. She had something wrong with her heart. She was sick for a long time. In the winter I walk on Team Sydney. I collect cans and bottles for money. This money is for Doctors who fix hearts. If we all work together someday the Doctors can fix everybody's hearts"
This little seven year old....says it ALL.
Ok...now as soon as I can see through my tears again I will post some pictures from the event.
I did not take my camera with me, but these pictures will show much of the event.
Again, THANK YOU.
I have asked in PM for each of my donors addresses. I picked up a Finishers Pin and program for each of you. Please send me your address if you would like one.
