Since the weather is still fridged here I cleared off some desk space and took some shots of a frosted glass vase I have here in the house. I'm new to the digital world and the more I dive into it the more I find I don't know. Especially when it comes to editing. Any comments or suggestion are very much welcome.

The first was shot with the 20d set to b&w mode useing the blue filter (not blue tone). I messed a bit with contrasts and usm in elements 4.

The second is color with minor adjustments to saturation and usm.

Both taken with the Canon 50mm 1.8 II. Lighting was a 13w "full spectrum" bulb (one of those curly doodads, 6400k) directly above with a simple foil reflector. Background was my computer monitor, using MS Paint set to a black background.

Thanks!
