I got my first piece of real glass today. Of course it is used glass, but you wouldn't know it by looking at it. The only flaw I could find was a little green paint on the tripod mounting bracket. Anyway, I just got a Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8 AF-D (the two ring model) and it is sick. It weighs a ton, but it sure is nice. Anyway, I just had to share this with someone who might care. My wife just rolls her eyes.

Congrats.

It's a great feeling isn't it? Happy shooting

That's a serious piece of glass Jeremy. You better get shooting. You've got to get a pic on the lens page!

Thanks everyone. If I could just get the weatherman to give me a window of opportunity to take it outside. It's been raining today. :(

Anyway, I hope to post some good shots soon.

Cheers,

hehe awesome lens, and built like a tank isn't it? I wouldn't worry at all picking one up used, as soon as you feel it, you can tell it's sturdy and is meant to take some abuse.

Did you get the case with that? Because I have one in mint condition I want to sell. I got it by mistake. I have the AF-S version of your lens and my lens wont fit.

Hey Wazoo, yah, it came with the case and original packaging and everything. Thanks for the offer though. I bet the AF-S is sure nice. I read that people were unhappy with the AF speed of the AF-D and in my opinion it is just as fast as any lens I've ever used. I bet the AF-S must really smoke then.

I'll see what I can do for you. Give me a few days or weeks to really get a good feel for it. So far so good though.

And yeah I like mine.
All the golf shots in my portfolio I took with the the 80-200.

To bad you couldn't get out today.
