I am in a photography class right now the uses strictly conventional analog cameras and if nothing else, I have learned exactly how much easier digital is to work with. On the other hand, it also lacks that element of working in the darkroom that I have come to enjoy. It is very fun and interesting to see an image go from light entering the lens to a finished shot on paper. It is also enjoyable to use my Canonet from the early 60's and, variables held constant, get better results than with my Rebel T2 which is basically the analog coutnerpart of its digital cousin--which means that my digital lenses transfer over just fine. I am on a high, having just gotten back from a night time shoot. My hands got so cold that I had to stop because I physically could not operate the buttons and dials on the camera any longer. |

*G* had the same experience like you last year, when i had a (analog) photography workshop. our main subject was b&w photography, so we also learnt the whole dark room stuff and it was really exciting!!!
and i still shoot (especially portraits) with my analog slr (pentagon)in b&w.
i think (and hope) analog willnever die!!! ;P
