Does anyone know where I can order the Sigma 24-105mm f/2.8 lens for Nikon (D70)?

Wow, not heard of that lens, sounds interesting.

Hmmmm, okay maybe I'm all mixed up about it. I thought I read a review. Okay, how about this then, 70-200mm F2.8? Would you suggest B & H or anywhere else?

sigma 24-135 2.8-4 (review) but it sucks.
Tamron 28-105 2.8 (review) is not so hot either

Tamron 24-135 SP (review) One of the best lenses made, period.

In the 70-200 2.8 the Sigma is very good review

The only 24-105mm I know of is the new Canon lens, and it's very nice.

Think I'm going for the 70-200 f/2.8 lens (need it for shooting in dark auditorium). But, I really want suggestions on WHERE to buy it. I mentioned B & H, but if anyone can suggest another source (maybe less expensive, I'm open to suggestions).

b&h is good and reliable. beachcamera and buydig i have heard decent things about, but they may not carry the full line of things.
check resellerratings.com before trying just any old online store.

also, fredmiranda.com has a large and very busy buy and sell forum, and ther is always ebay. I bought a couple of new lenses new on ebay and saved about 15% over b&h's prices.

Thanks - I will check out all those places. My fingers are itching for this lens, so I have a feeling I will be ordering today!

I bought a 70-200 f/2.8. I'm not that impressd with it. Should've just saved half the money and gone with the f/4. Maybe I should buy a 5D and hook it to that and see if I like it better.

If your going to buy a Sigma....try Sigma4Less...cheaper than most other places. I bought my 105mm there....and they accept PayPal which is good for added security for you.

Well, I love the 70-200mm. But then, my Minolta gives it image stabilising as well so it's a killer combination.

What i've found is you gotta play with a lens until you find what it does best, or how best to use it. My tamron 70-210 2.8 with it's big glass MUST have the lens hood on or i get a low contrast image everytime.
used correctly, it is fantastic.

It's a done deal (hopefully anyway, I remembered I'd better transfer some funds around to cover paypal). I did order the Sigma f/2.8 70-200mm from Sigma4Less last night. I'm hoping to use it soon from the balcony of a dark auditorium for a local dance performance. Last year I did that with my old Kodak 6490, and I remember using the f/2.8 aperture and the photos were nice. Want to give this another try with my Nikon now. Last year I balanced the camera on the balcony ledge (strap around my neck, so I didn't drop the camera on someone's head below!) Will probably do the same. I also have the remote for this camera. Will post some photos after the event (if I'm proud of them). Thanks for the help with this decision and where to order from!
