So, for you a vote of 2 is the same as my vote of 1. You have to have some bottom, which says "this is the worst picture I've seen in this challenge (or one of the worst, if there are more than one). Whether that worst is 1, 2 or 10, you're still acknowledging someone as deserving of being the worst. Using the full scale of 1 through 10 just gives you more room to distiguish those who deserve to be better than the worst.[/quote] |

Apologies Scott. Didn't mean to fly off the handle like I did. I was a little confused too & obviously mis-interpreted your reply.

I did assume that at least you were agreeing with the quote, and I didn't take it as meaning you thought I was jealous, I was saying that they kid who commented to me was jealous (I assume), that I'm not sure why (I like my shot OK, but it's not an award winner), and that a rule like that wouldn't have stopped him from voting 1 (which I'm happy to allow anyone to do for any reason whatsoever and leave a comment or not). And I was just kidding around there at the end. Just trying to lighten the whole tone up a little.
....When starting a thread, there needs to be an "Are You Sure You Want To Open This Can Of Worms" button - maybe I would have passed... |

I got your point, did you get mine? Let's say we all never vote 1 for anyone, cause it will hurt their feelings. Well, then a 2 effectively becomes the same as a 1 - it's the lowest, worst score you can give someone. To get a 2 then would hurt just the same as a 1 does now. So making 1 off limits doesn't really change the net effect. Although, I guess it does make you feel better about yourself, and that's OK I suppose. |
