| yeah, actually, I noticed that the top 3 Blue II entries all had a yellow complement. all of the other top 10 photos were monochrome blue. definitely thought that was interesting. |

| I had also noticed that the top 5 entries in Your Shadow II were color and then 6-10 were b/w. |

Orange is the complementary colour to blue - so it's nothing extraordinary, the photographers just took advantage of the best possible colour contrast.

I have to positively, absolutely, without a second thought agree.
If you look at some of the best motion pixture movies, you will notice that color is a HUGE factor in having the viewer be involved with the movie.
It is what I have been saying, preaching, showing, pointing out ever since my membership to DPC.
Color brings out emotion.
The pixture may be crap, but sometimes the color will show the crap in a differant emotional point of view.
Take anyone of those blue, or orange pixs, turn them into Black and White. Now what? Is your emotion the same. I would think not.
Color equals emotion.
One reason for the thread I started "Color Game", to have people understand what color means to differant people, and the emotional feedback from it.
The only other element that will feed into the viewers emotional being just as strong is.... music.

I cannot agree to this generalization. You say that colours can make a 'crappy' photograph emotional. But the conversion to black and white can have the same effect!
