The Salt Lake Olympic Committee lit the flame last night to coincide with the lighting of the flame in Italy. It is going to burn until Sunday night but only from 5:00 pm until midnight at a cost from Questar Gas of $100.00 a minute. naldslc and I went down to Cauldron Park to this evening to take a few shots.

I posted some other shots here
It sure was fun having the Olympics here in 2002.

I like the olympics and pagentry as much as the next person, but 7 hours at $100/minute? Isn't there a better use for $84,000?

I believe they cap it off at just $6,000 a day.
