shadow - just go away - what are you trying to do? Here we sit in the comfort of our plush offices gloating over our fat bellies and you shamelessly post THIS!!

Nobody cares - least of all the decision makers. I use to treat children like these on a daily basis but the state of affairs is so pathetic that I quit in order to save my own sanity - Yeah! I am a looser :(

that hit me in the gut. My little one is about the same age.
Is that your photo?

This is a sad reflection on humanity. This tugs at my heart, and makes me even more grateful for all that I have. In my country the poorest of the poor have it better, even the dogs and cats do.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Especially if those words are from politicians.

This is the kind of thing that really sickens me. Its hard to believe that this is even still happening in today’s day and age.

What’s even more disgusting is we have a lottery here that 2 weeks or so ago was at 240 million dollars. Do you think any of those winnings are going to help this little guy, unfortunately probably not. Even if you donated 1% of your winnings that’s almost a quarter million.

I had dinner at a restaurant with 2 other friends last week, we couldn’t come close to finishing all of the food we had and the rest gets thrown away after we sit back rubbing our gluttonous bellies while little kids like this starve and happily eat things we wouldn’t feed to our dogs.

Thanks for this image it really gives you a smack in the head to rethink priorities in a time when it’s so easy to forget.

Shadow, your post reminded me of something I had forgotten. When I first saw this image, I decided someday I would be a photographer, and someday I would go and try to make a difference somewhere.

As it happens, I'm now on my way to becoming a photographer, and in a few months I'm heading south to Tijuana to build houses for Homes for Hope.

Photography/photojournalism can make a difference guys...I was 12 years old when I saw it the first time. It has stuck with me since then.

Weird thread, but I'm glad it's here.

If it didn't cost $10,000 a kid to adopt, I would take at least 4 of those hungry little ones. That is truely sad!!! They all have a special place in my heart.

OMG, this picture instantly made me sick. I have tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat. I have a 9-month old at home right now, so everytime I see pictures like this, it just tears me apart. I can only hope that the photojournalist who was there shooed the vulture away. I can't even think of the words to describe how sad & sick I feel right now. [deep sigh] I am so deeply saddened.

I look at the first picture posted, and the one pedro posted, and it just reminds me how bloated and insignificant our day to day troubles really are, at least mine feel that way. I'm inspired to hear you're going to build houses in Mexico, Pedro. I haven't got a job right now, and I almost think my time would have been better spend over the last month had I done something like that too.

Its overwhelming to the point where one doesn't know what to do about it, except be sad.

Just do what I'm doing...Go. Hell, I've never even been to Mexico save for an 8 hour stopover in Cozumel while on a cruise. Not sure who's doing these kinds of things out west, but a few phone calls would solve that.

Just Go.

There are some sites where you can support children,
//www.thehungersite.com
//www.almudo.com/
//www.btinternet.com/~cas/
//www.enscw.org/
//www.unicef.org/

Just use Google and make a search ("hunger children") or ("street children"). You'll be surprised what you find...
That is the world we live!
