I could learn more from Philos, Anastasia and Kiwiness and your talented group of students in 10 minutes than I could ever learn on my own about nude or any other kind of photography in years.
Combine that with drinking and comraderie and what more could a healthy boy ever want? :)
I'm so jealous I will not be there that I can't stand it!
I hate you people. :)

I think I will be a bit nervous, presenting in English, or to be exact, in English with a heavy Dutch accent.
I realy need to practice again and write down the parts that take me to long to think about.
Gary knows that my English isn´t that good, but I hope he won´t interupt and correct me every 2nd sentence like he does normaly ;) (Just Kidding Mr Kiwi) |

when you get on stage, take a deep breath, check your deodorant (kidding ;-)) put the piece of paper away and start talking.
You know what you'll be talking about, that's a +
We know your English isn't that good, that's another +
We'll just put a piece of paper in Gary's mouth, so he can't talk anymore, +
really, you'll be allright.

I've got a question for all of you: Have you met all the people that are going to the GTG before? It seems many of you know each other from other GTG, but I wanted to know how many of you.
I also ask that because we have prepared for us a small list of all the participants of the list, with the username, real first name and a picture from the profile or selfportrait challenges in order to simplify the identification of people and maybe any of you would like to have it.
For me and Inma (imagine74) would be our first big GTG (we had a mini GTG in LOndon with Kavita, Chiqui and Manic).
Hoping it to arrive...

hmm. I've been thinking about this too.
Of course, it would be great.
But, there might be ± 26 entries with probably the same model or pose or props or ....
Not sure though. We'll see :)

If you have seen the agenda for this day you can also see that there isn't that much time for everybody to shoot.
The workshop thing is more talking and watching then actualy taking photo's. For instance, while the roulation is going, everybody has 5 whole minutes to shoot per session, 1 session in Natural Light, 1 session in the studio.
There will be different opportunities for the participants to shoot, but with 26 somewhat people it's not going to be easy to let everybody also do a Challenge worthy picture that doesn't look like the other participants picture...
I am not sure, you have to ask Nasti for all details, but that was what I understoood... |

Wait...it's the models that are going to be nude? Oops.
I really didn't understand the whole "Nude Photography" thing until now. No wonder my models always looked at me funny. |

If I could give a "10" to a comment I would. Can I somehow mark this as a "favorite"? |

Ah well, even Balkenende and Ben Bot speak English with a Dutch accent, so don't worry about that ;) |

For Philos31
Peter,
I was once asked to talk in three different countries in three days about stuff I was working on. The first talk was in Den Haag, the second in Munich and the third was Copenhagen. It was an important set of talks, designed to generate support for a major European-wide proposal.
In Den Haag, the audio visual system failed before I even reached the stage. I had to use over-head slides, no microphone and no other support tools. The problem was that the slides were the English-only version of the presentation, and did not have the carefully prepared Dutch annotations. None of the team with me was Dutch and no one could speak any Dutch at all (the team was all English and American speaking, with one exception). This was not a happy start.
However, the audience understood despite the problems and the language barriers. In fact, they were mostly amused at my accent (very British but with a lot of American colloquialisms, such as telling the audience that they needed to "hang loose like a goose") and seemed pleased with the way I was prepared to get on with it.
Peter, you have an audience that wants to learn from your expertise and will be focused on doing so. We have all volunteered to be at the Workshop and therefore will be totally receptive to what you say. Don't worry about your accent or your English as I am sure you will knock as us dead! Anyhow, your English is a lot better than my Dutch :-) so I need to thank you for presenting in my language.
By the way, the Munich talk was even harder than the Den Haag one because one of my colleagues - fluent in German although a Czech by birth - insisted on translating everything! Sadly, he could not make the Copenhagen presentation, which went very well indeed despite my trying to speech the odd word or two of Danish.
So, as for Gary always correcting your English - he is a colonial, so what does he know? :-)

Thanks for you support, I think I will be fine...
But still, it's the first time that I actualy have a whole audience that listens to me, well... except those Dutch Girls offcourse, they will probably wait outside till I'm finnished, they are scared to be in one room with me... ;) |
