Yippee, I booked my tickets!
There was a special offer today which I managed to take advantage of.
I am arriving in Münster on Friday 14th at 19:45.
Anyone else arriving then so we can share a Taxi?

I arrive in Frankfurt on thursday and will be renting a car so if someone can point me in the right direction I could pick you up, I will be at the Stadthotel-Munster as so many of us.
STASI or Kiwiness will you be there to show us around town on friday ?

I am arriving by car late Thursday evening (assuming that the Euro-Tunnel is not on fire and that there are no road works and that I don't get side-tracked by too many photo opportunities and I don't get lost and I don't get bored). I am also staying at the Stadthotel-Munster: maybe we should have gone for a group rate! :-)
Personally, I intend to spend Friday "chillin" in Munster and recovering from the road trip prior to the adrenalin rush that will be Saturday. I kind of understood that Sunday was the second day of the workshop when we would all walk around Munster with kiwiness and anastasia leading the way.
And the home again on Monday.
Tough life, huh?

We'll probably arrive on Friday, so that we don't have to travel very early in the morning on Saturday.
I'm really looking forward to it! |

Update: We have one more model for the workshop. Peter's blue ribbon winner for the yellow challenge Liz will be modelling for the workshop as well!

I think we will have so much last minute organisation stuff on the Friday that we won't be able to manage it. See what happens okay?

Oh I am so envious!! Unfortunately, I'm not due to move to Germany until the end of November. Hopefully there will be another get together next spring, maybe?? Or over the holidays? I'd love to meet all of you!
And if anyone has recommendations for where to live in Mainz, I'm definitely open to suggestions.
Really looking forward to seeing the results of this workshop!

Elvi & myself are planning the trip to you guys... we're whining about a 3 hour trip, but the guys from USA & Canada... pfff!
anyway, we're gonna make reservation at the youth-hostel (Nasti, gonna PM you about that). We're gonna stay there from friday till saturday. Saturdaynight we're gonna leave you guys to make the trip back home :)

Looks like I get to do 680 km of driving each way - ouch!
Still, the car is kind of comfortable but this should be an interesting challenge...
(Mutters... should have flown but would they let me carry all of my gear?)
Carl
PS managed to cancel my reservation at the hotel while trying to confirm it yesterday - thankfully the hotel was able to understand my stupidity and reinstate the booking. I beleive the appropriate German term here is Dummkopf!

Hey, for me it's a 4 and an half hour trip ;). But you're absolutely right, we shouldn't complain at all. I can't even believe some are coming from the USA and Canada. |

Nasti, Peter and Gary - Kudos!
This is an intriguing and full day of tutorial and practicals. Not often I relish the chance to do something or be somewhere but this is one of those delightful exceptions.
Fifty, acting like a teenager here (a mature, sensible teenager with the experience of fifty years, you understand :-)

I am impressed, you have worked hard and more work ahead. I will be in Iceland - holding the fort while DanSig is away, somewhere in Germany I believe he said.
Learning and having fun ... before, during and after.

it may sounds strange, but i neither have lenses with that focal length nor a camera with a hot shoe yet *lol*
but i hope i will get my new cam soon...
probably not a slr, but at least a fuji s9500 ;P
would i am the only one without an slr?
@dansig: i could provide myself as the navigation system ;) because i also would like to go to berlin after the gtg...

Nope! I will be bringing my Panasonic with me that does have a hot shoe and a "long" lens - 35 to 360 mm or thereabouts - but no prime lenses per se.
But I will have my eyes, ears and brain so hope to learn a lot despite the possible failings of my camera (which is plenty for me at the moment). |
