I get Rangefinder magazine, and this month they have an article on a photographer that shoots cars - and some info and sample inmages.
One 'tool' he uses is a large softbox. You ain't seen nuthin like it. 40,000 watt seconds. Yes, fourty thousand. But then, when your softbox ia 17 by 52 feet in size, just any old alien bee won't quite do.

One of those softboxes was for sale on ebay a few months ago, they wanted 8k for it. New was over 20k.

Stitch 10 bed sheets together and get 10 flashes and you are all set.
