MY DAUGHTER IS GETTING MARRIED!!!

YES, I am shouting - what a joyous time this is - well, and sad in a way too, knowing that she will be leaving the nest in just 24 days.

I submitted this image of my daughter into the Free Study challenge:

1.

And besides wanting to share the rest of the images with you, I'm just dieing to ask... did I pick the wrong one for the challenge? Would you have scored either of these higher?

2. or 3.

I originally submitted image #2 figuring it would appeal more to DPC voters. But I just couldn't help it. I absolutely love the soft and tender tones in image #1, so at the last minute I switched.

Of course, image #3 didn't make the selection process any easier, I loved it too.

Anyway, just curious about your thoughts.

Now, you gotta know I have more of these to share. Fact is, I've printed and framed (16x20 and 16x24 sizes) 3 of my daughters bridals. And the rest of these have all been printed at various sizes as well (to be placed on the tables at the reception):

1. 2. 3.
4. 5. 6.

This last one was at my wife's request. Unfortunately, it loses some of its impact in small form because some of the texture is lost. But I printed this one as an 8x10 and had it framed in an old antique frame and ... wow ... I've gotten all kinds of complements on it!

Anyway, as you can tell, I'm just so excited and thrilled to see my daughter getting married.

I love 3 on the first set. She is a beautiful bride and you must be very proud.

They all came out really well. Congrats.

They are all great! I love the staircase shot. It has such an elegant and classic feel to it. She's beautiful! Best wishes to the bride and Congratulations!

First off Congrats to you and your beautiful daughter. Awesome photos that you got there. I'm thinking that 5 is my favorite as it portrays the seriousness of the situation and a candid cheerfulness of your daughter.

As to the challenge I believe you did the right thing...by replacing the Selective DeSat'd shot. I know for you that it must have been hard to even put that one in knowing that the viewers would be drawn to the rose instead of the beauty of the entire shot.

Desaturation as a whole is not as widely accepted as many think around DPC, and will generally garner a lower vote from me (unless it is a advert spotlighting a product). nuf about destat.

Of the three potential challenge entries I do believe you made the right choice in going with #1. I like the contrast between the black background and white dress of #3 but have druthers about the pose. More specifically, for me the one shoe up in the air seems to be a bit of a distraction. It's probably just me....

Thanks everyone for your comments!

By the way, I just thought I'd let you know... I've printed up all of these to show during the reception. But especially, I picked three of them to print large.

I had #1 and #3 printed as 16x20's and #5 printed as an 16x24. I just got them back this week from the company that does the framing and they look absolutely awesome.

Thanks for your comments and well wishes. We're just so excited. :-)

Wow congrats! I would be ordering tons of photos as well. I would have to say that both #3s are my favorties. I really love the work you have done here.
