How about the pass that the Seahawks tight end caught, took two steps, and had the ball knocked loose. It was a clear reception, but called a non catch. Bad call. |
then it would have been a fumble! Unless you mean the two that the receiver was out of bounds. clearly out of bounds.

I don't think any contact is allowed down field, and pushing - right in front of the ref- sorry, it was a good call. the fact that they couldn't get it back in the endzone on the next play is not the ref's fault - it's on the team and their coaching staff at that point. IN the last game teh steelers had a TD called back and made it on the next play.

Upshot is a badly called game, called by guys who did their best but failed to get the calls right. Baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer all have full time professional refs. It might be time for football to splurge and hire some pros.
P.S. I'm glad for Cower, a class act who deserves the ring, and yes I think the Steelers were the better team, I gave the pitifull four points that Pittsburg were favored by, and parlayed it into the under, cause neither team are exactly offensive jugernauts on the best of days. The refs probalbly didn't change the outcome, but they made it less fun to watch. |
I agree with this last part. Except for one thing - Pittsburgh is spelled with an H. ;)

My opinion does not count. Your opinion does not count.
the ref on the field at the time of the play is the only one that counts.
And if he had said no TD, we'd have gotten it in on the next play anyway.

I would win the game to if I was on a team with 14 players on the field! Before you get uptight, the other players had on black and white with yellow flags hanging out their pockets. LOL
You have to admit the officials were one sided on some calls. Not a fan of either team.
The Steelers won and that is what will go in history! |

I realize this thread has deteriorated into a virtual fistfight... but here are some shots from the parade today :)
The first one is a shot of my brother (who shoots for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and shot the Super Bowl) hanging out behind his buddy Bill Cowher:

Yes it should clearly have been a Steeler ball, and they were robbed of a great play by the db getting a helmet on the ball. Im not saying that the bad calls all went in one direction, just that it was poorly called.

If that were so most pass plays would draw a flag. Hand checking, that is the reaching out to keep track of your assigned man by the cover guy while you snap a look back to see what is going on elsewhere on the feild, happens every play. What is illegal is influencing the body mass, giving him a push that forces a change of stride, or bodily moves the player. Had the reciver put a hand on the DB and extended his arm, giving him a shove, that should have been called, but that didn't happen. They played the usual slap hands, and the reciver jumped, the DB was flatfooted, he was standing in the same spot after the catch as he had been before. There was no shove to the body that pushed him off the ball.
Anyway, enjoy the celebration in Pittsburgh. I got the h this time!
P.S. I went to my first Baseball game today, time to move on :) |

I actually booked a wedding while I was at the rally! Or at least I MAY have booked one. There were some girls behind me who asked me to e-mail them some shots from the rally since they were "vertically-impared" in a crowd of tall people. I sent them some shots by e-mail, and one of the girls happened to ask if I shot weddings, which I just began doing.
So, we're going to get together once I return from the Gulf region next week. Weird way to book a wedding, eh? |
